As we enter into the spring season, fishing for winter steelhead is slowly winding down. However, there are still a few systems that have a successful late returning broodstock program. Along with the transition to spring, we are also seeing the arrival of spring Chinook in the Columbia and Willamette rivers. These fish are currently feasting on smelt, making for a tougher fishing experience. But as we move into March and April, the fishing for spring Chinook will only continue to improve. For now, slow trolling a herring behind a triangle is your best bet until water temperatures start to warm up. Happy fishing, and we hope to see you out on the water!

Give me, David Klistoff a shout!! Questions? I gotcha!
